I arrived in New Zealand with nothing more than a suitcase and a willingness to work. Like many Kiwis and immigrants before me, I started at the bottom—pouring pints in an Irish bar and making beds in a backpackers. From there, I was fortunate to become one of the founding members of GrabOne, which went on to become New Zealand’s largest online marketplace.
After a stint back home helping launch GrabOne in Ireland, the pull of the sun (and better fishing) brought me back to Aotearoa. With hard work, smart saving, and a focus on getting the basics right, I managed to secure that “impossible” first-home deposit—without giving up the lifestyle I enjoyed. That first step onto the ladder led to a series of smart property decisions, structured mortgages, and eventually a strong portfolio of assets.
These days, my focus is on helping others do the same. I’m a mortgage adviser who genuinely loves the process—guiding everyday families, first-home buyers, investors, and business owners toward better lending structures and well-protected assets. And outside of work, life revolves around my wife and our daughter, who keeps us laughing and reminds me daily why financial freedom matters.
