Renting? Living with parents? Both of these have their benefits and to be honest sometimes I wish I was living with my parents, (washing sorted, food on table) but they do live on the other side of the world. Needless to say I quickly learned how to cook and clean, but then again living with a lot of random people who didn’t know how to do any of the above got a bit frustrating after a while.

So I bought a house and got flatmates who knew how to look after themselves. Also, having that dreaded feeling over your head about “where will I be living next year if the landlord ups the rent or moves back in?” is gone. Having an asset like your own place gives the solution to all the above issues.

However, it’s no easy task. It can be a very daunting and stressful time as buying a house will most likely be the biggest asset you will potentially ever own. I have done this multiple times personally myself and I can tell you right now; it’s a very exciting time but also can cause a lot of sleepless nights. I will be there to help you through this and explain everything in very simple terms and numbers so you can rest easy. But there are many ways to get to this stage. I’ll show you multiple strategies in getting your foot on the ladder; from looking at off-plan and new builds, to using Kiwisaver and family donations.

How much can I borrow

Aren’t banks cheaper if I go directly to them?

Most of the time this is not the case. But if it is, we will tell you, at no cost to you. As a broker, we are completely impartial and work for you and not the bank. The only thing that matters is getting you the best deal.

I have a mortgage, can you find me a better deal?

A lot of people are paying too much these days, so it’s well worth your while to get in contact. We can save $100,000’s of dollars to the total loan and reduce your payments by years. 

What if a better deal comes along?

As your broker we are consistently hunting for the best rates so we will always be there with the right information at the right time. Once you’re a client, you’re always a client. 

What is the minimum deposit?

This is a very good question; a lot of people think you need the full 20%, but we have clients that have only 5% and still got their dream house. So it really all depends on your situation and we will work out the best way forward. 

What documents do you need from me?

We will schedule a meeting or a quick phone call and take you through the process (which is not complicated by the way!) and then we’ll take care of the work .

How much can I borrow?

How long will it take for me to get a mortgage?

The process of getting all the information will take a few hours, then we compile all the information into a case for the bank.  The bank will take between 5-10 working days if they have all the information to come back with an offer.
